My name is Claire Houghton Ward and I have been a florist for over 19 years (I am trying not to give away my age!). I currently teach flower arranging in Devon, I have NVQ certificates in floristry and specialise in wedding flowers. As anyone who knows me will tell you-I love flowers and I love weddings!
I am always honoured to make wedding flowers as I feel that it is a privilege to be involved in such an important element of your special day. I work from home and I intend to keep my business small so that I can offer a personal, bespoke service. I am always happy to meet in person, always happy to have a coffee and talk weddings! When I started planning my own nuptials I was so disheartened to learn that with many services, as soon as the word ‘wedding’ was mentioned the price doubled! I decided to be a radical florist and provide high quality designs at affordable prices. As I make bespoke designs that are made especially for the individual Bride, I can cater for all styles and all budgets.
Everything from the initial consultation to the finished bouquet is done entirely by myself. This allows me to provide a personal service although my services may take slightly longer than purchasing from high street florist (as I have to fit my flower arranging around my toddler’s nap times!). Every commission receives my individual attention. I do not mass produce bouquets and arrangements. It is important to me and the Brides who buy my flowers that every commission is individual-even the flowers I make for my shop are ‘one offs’.
